Counsellors

Primary goals of counselling sessions are to collaborate with children to build self-esteem, to improve communication skills, to promote healthy development and to help build emotional range and vocabulary.​

Specific counselling services include:

  • Helping children with issues such as anxiety, friendship/peer relationships, conflict, grief, divorce and family issues, emotional regulation and maladaptive behaviour.
  • Communicating with families and providing resources, referrals to outside agencies and support when requested.
  • Providing support to teachers and helping with teacher/learner/family connections when appropriate.
  • Providing classroom presentations, lessons or support when needed.
